Darren O’Brien is the Chief Corporate & Government Affairs (CGA) Officer of Mondelēz International, a global snacking leader with 2024 net revenues of approximately $36.4 billion driven by iconic brands such as Oreo, Ritz, LU, Clif Bar and Tate's Bake Shop biscuits and baked snacks, as well as Cadbury Dairy Milk, Milka and Toblerone chocolate.

Darren has held numerous senior leadership roles in Mondelēz International since 2008 across multiple geographies, including President of Australia, New Zealand and Japan; President of the Cheese and Grocery business in Asia Pacific, and President for Meals Europe and Philadelphia globally, based in Zurich.

Darren has extensive experience in the Food and Beverage industry, with previous roles at CCA Snackfoods, Mars Petcare, Diageo and Fonterra. He has a strong track record in growth turnaround, mergers and acquisitions, including the acquisition and merger of Bonlac Foods, Peters, Brownes and Norco Milk into the Fonterra Group; Kraft Foods’ acquisition and integration of Cadbury; and Mondelēz International’s acquisition of Gourmet Food.

Darren holds an Executive MBA from Singapore Management University, a Master of Enterprise (Leadership and Management) from Melbourne University, and a Bachelor of Business from University of Technology Sydney. He is based in Chicago and is Chair of the Australian Food and Grocery Council Board.
