What's your degree and your current role in Mondelēz?
I'm Mechanical and Electrical Engineer with MBA in Business Administration and I'm in the current role of Process Excellence Manager.
What inspired you to pursue a career in engineering?
I was passionate since child about fixing every single electric appliance at home that was broke, trying to give it a shot to fix it...I also liked to build circuit boards that I bought from an electronic store near home, and I was always interested in automation, robots, cars, etc...that's why I decided to go for an engineering career.
What's your favorite thing about your current job as a Process Excellence Manager in Manufacturing?
The most that I enjoy is Problem Solving and coach others how to fish. Problem solving is about helping people to work smarter and not harder and streamline processes to eradicate losses and make processes to flow smooth with high efficiency. And coach people in how to fish, is about mentoring others on how to apply Lean Six Sigma tools so we can engage 100% of people by applying these techniques to create mindset and culture of Zero Losses as well to support sustainment moving forward.
What advice would you give to someone considering a career in engineering?
For a career in engineering, do your diligent research and explore various engineering disciplines to find your passion, but I will really recommend engaging in hands-on projects and seek internships for practical experience.
