Why did you choose Mondelēz?

As a student, straight out college, getting an opportunity to work in a multinational FMCG giant such as Mondelēz is a dream come true. When I cracked the interview, the moment was surreal as fond childhood memories associated with Mondelēz’s iconic brands flashed right before me. I have always admired the Company’s commitment to sustainability and how its beloved brands have become a part of our culture.

Today, I can very confidently say choosing Mondelēz was one of the best decisions of my life. The company has provided me with a strong foundation to kick start my career, offering me the opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The supportive and collaborative work culture has allowed me to develop new skills, gain valuable experience, and build a professional network. I am grateful for the mentorship and guidance I have received, which has helped me navigate the complexities of the industry and set me on the right path for a successful career.

Can you share a memorable experience from your first few months in your career?

Attending the Goal Alignment Meet, our annual meet, with the entire India Finance Team in India's vibrant city of Goa was one of the initial memories which I would forever cherish. The energy and enthusiasm in the room was palpable as we discussed the team goals and how they aligned with the company objectives. It was a great way to connect with my colleagues and understand the bigger picture.

This experience really set the tone for my career and helped me understand the importance of alignment and collaboration in achieving success. We had the best time of our lives having fun with colleagues, exploring the place, munching on great food and making core memories for a lifetime! This experience taught me the value of teamwork, communication, and goal setting.

It's moments like these that really make a difference in how we start our careers, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have such a positive and impactful experience early on. It's important for graduates to have these kinds of experiences to set them on the right path and give them the confidence and motivation to thrive in their careers.

What was the biggest challenge you faced during your transition from academia to the workforce?

The shift from academia to the workforce was seamless with Mondelēz because of the number of orientation programs, and induction sessions conducted for newcomers. These programs helped us understand corporate culture, the expectations of the organization, and the skills needed to excel in our roles. Additionally, having mentors and senior colleagues to guide us through the initial phase of our careers was incredibly valuable.

The biggest challenge for me personally was adapting to the fast-paced nature of the corporate world and learning to prioritize tasks effectively. I also faced the challenge of understanding the business dynamics and aligning my academic knowledge with real-world application. However, through continuous learning and on-the-job training, I was able to bridge this gap and contribute meaningfully to the organization. The support and guidance provided by the company helped me navigate these challenges and set a strong foundation for my career.

Overall, the transition from academia to the workforce was made smoother thanks to the comprehensive support and resources offered by the company.
