What makes your role exciting & unique?
Working in the Bournville factory, no two days are ever the same. We make a huge amount of chocolate at this site, and Logistics is the lifeblood of the operation, ensuring that we have a steady flow of materials, ingredients, and finished goods moving around the site.
The thing that makes my role exciting is the freedom I have to make it my own and develop the organization. If we see something isn’t working, we change it. That autonomy drives a continuous improvement mindset in the whole team.
What are you most proud of being a leader at MDLZ?
The Cadbury site in Bournville is such an iconic chocolate factory; having the opportunity to be a custodian of this site is a real privilege. I get to work with some amazing brands and even more amazing people.
Leading Logistics at this historic site, which dates to 1879, can be a challenge, but our teams work very hard to ensure that we supply production with everything they need to make all those amazing bars of Dairy Milk and Tubs of Heroes.
What do I enjoy outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I have a 14-year-old son who’s going to be doing GCSEs soon, and I’m married to Matt, who also works for Mondelēz. We enjoy travelling, and our most recent adventure was to Vietnam. We like to go to a variety of live music events, everything from Rock to Jazz, and we love to be outside in our garden. It gives us a quiet place to relax after a busy day.
What is your commitment to supporting women in logistics?
I’m keen to show women that Manufacturing is not the scary place it might seem from the outside. We have women in all functions within Manufacturing, from Engineering to Planning & Logistics, and our leadership team is now made up of more than 50% women.
