Claudia joined Mondelēz International in 2012 as one of twelve participants of the ‘Young Professional Program’ in Argentina. As a newly graduated lawyer, a rotation within the HR function wasn’t the obvious choice, but when being offered to join the labor relations HR team at the Pacheco Plant, Claudia saw it as a chance to apply her field of studies within a new interesting area. Little did she know that nine years later, she’d still be growing her career within the HR world.
“I joined the business without any true knowledge about HR and yet, I was given the space and time to learn on the job with the support of my manager and every member of the team. For that, I’m very grateful to Mondelēz”.
Right from the start as a young professional Claudia built functional depth by working across the many HR disciplines – spanning from Talent & Organizational Effectiveness to Compensation & Benefits. With time, Claudia grew into the role as Senior HR Analyst and performed as a key member in several projects such as ‘Mondelēz Service Center’ and ‘Workday’ implementation, to then becoming an HR Business Leader for key business functions such as Supply Chain and R&D. Another pivotal moment in Claudia’s career came after having an open and honest conversation with her manager about building capability within project management. When a role within the Change Management Team for a key business project opened a few months later, her manager championed her career move. The result? A successful implementation of the SAP system in the entire Southern Cone region, reaching over 4000 employees, without any operational nor business disruption.
“Having an ongoing dialog with my managers about my career aspirations has been key for my journey and growth here. I’d encourage everyone to have regular career conversations and talk about your future, the skills you need and how to acquire those skills. My advice is to be curious and stay up to date with current trends, both internally and externally, to keep Growing Every Day.”
At the time of the interview, Claudia’s on maternity leave adjusting to the life of being a mum of two. While enjoying motherhood and spending time with her family, she’s also looking forward coming back to her role as People Lead for Pacheco Plant and Supply Chain Functions. She remembers how tough it was adjusting to the new life of balancing professional and personal needs after her first leave. “It was difficult to keep up with both work and life, but I was lucky to get the support I needed from the business and my leaders. This time I feel confident I’ll get the same warm welcome back with the opportunity for flexible working. Until then, I’ll enjoy being a mum!”
